Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus new features
Apple Inc. finally put an end to all iPhone 7 rumours by launching the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. The handsets were announced in the company's keynote event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Both the devices will be available starting September 16, 2016 in the US. While it will be available in India by October 2016 with estimated cost of ₹ 60k. Now Let's see the new hot features of iPhone 7.
1) Powerful camera
Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have upgraded cameras. iPhone 7 has a 12 megapixel sensor that is claimed to be 60% faster. iPhone 7 also has a quad-LED flash with 50% light output, and can detect for the imperceptible flickering of energy efficient lights. Each camera on iPhone 7 has a different focal length, allowing users to pick between shooting photos with a wide-angle or a telephoto lens. It is worth noting that while the iPhone 7 features a single 12MP rear camera, the larger screen variant comes with two 12MP rear camera with 2x optical zooming capability upto 56mm.
2) Powered by A10 chip
The two iPhone 7 handsets are powered by the new quad-core Apple A10 Fusion processor with 64-bit four core CPU. The processor has two high performance cores and two high efficiency cores for a longer battery life. It also has a new 6-core GPU which is 50% faster than the Apple A9 processor.
3) Go slim
Getting rid of the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack has helped Apple make its new iPhones slimmer and boost its battery lifetime. iPhone 7 also weighs slightly less than iPhone 6, while iPhone 6 weighs 143 gm, it is 138 gm for iPhone 7.
4) Stereo speakers
Both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus now have stereo speakers onboard. While there's one at the top, the other's at bottom of the device. Apple claims that this improves the quality of the sound produced as well as boosts its dynamic range.
5) Water-resistant
Both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus boasts of IP67 ration, which makes them water and dust-resistant. This means the phones can be immersed in water up to 1m depth.
6) Upgrade of base storage to 32GB
With iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the company is bidding goodbye to 16GB as base storage. The new iPhones will come in three variants -- 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. Here 256GB is the new addition, and as always there is no expandable storage.
7) No headphone jack
Yes Apple has removed 3.5 mm headphone jack. The company has replaced it with the Lightning port-based connectors. These plug into the phone's charging port. The company has also bundled an adapter with new iPhones so that older earphones can still be used.

8) New Home button
For the first time ever, since Apple launched iPhones the company has redesigned its Home button. The new home button is now touch sensitive and uses a new Taptic engine for better response.
9) Added two new colours
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 will come in five colours, including the two new colours Black and Jet Black. The other three colurs are Silver, Gold and Rose Gold. Apple is discontinuing its space colured option. The company has reportedly used robots to spin the aluminium bodies through sand to make it insanely shiny.
10) Better and brighter display
Apple claims the Retina HD displays in its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are 25% brighter than the screens on last year's iPhones. They are also supposed to support much wider gamut of colours.
11) Longest-ever battery life
Apple claims that its new iPhones offer 'longest-ever battery'. According to the company, iPhone 7 will give at least 2 more hours of battery as compared to iPhone 6s, while the bigger iPhone 7 Plus will offer at least 1 hour more of battery life vis-a-vis 6s Plus.
